Mutual Aid
Overview
Mutual aid means we help each other in our community. This page connects people who need help with those who can give it. Help can include money, accessibility needs, or urgent support. Below are current ways to help people in our community. To add someone, please contact us. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Beth Kris
Two years ago, Beth was active and independent. After taking four pills of a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, her life changed completely. She became disabled and now uses a wheelchair. Beth cannot work, drive, or leave home alone. She lives with severe chronic pain and other health problems that keep getting worse. She has seen lots of doctors and tried many treatments, but she is still mostly bedridden. She cannot qualify for disability benefits because she lacks enough work credits.

Beth needs help paying for basic accessibility items like a house ramp, car equipment for her wheelchair, and other mobility aids. These things cost thousands of dollars. Her health is getting worse, and she also faces the heartbreak of having to put down her elderly cat due to an aggressive tumor. Beth is grateful for any support as she fights to regain some independence. Even small donations can help her get the tools she needs to improve her quality of life.

Donia Lilly
Donia has been homeless now since 9/30/2025. Due to her severe neuro-immune disorder she cannot keep moving homes, and needs help securing a quiet, permanent place to live. Donia became severely disabled in 2015 and has had to move an unbelievable number of times and her body cannot sustain the physical, mental, and emotional stress of moving anymore. The current goal is to get an ADA accessible manufactured home or mobile home for her that we can put on a quiet piece of land she can affordably lease for the rest of her life.

Any amount you can contribute will make a difference. For those who prefer to give in other ways, consider sharing this campaign or supporting Donia's art directly via her website. Before becoming severely disabled, Donia was a professional artist whose beautiful paintings, prints, and knit & crochet pieces make wonderful gifts for yourself or others. When her health allows, she still creates knit & crochet pieces and sometimes jewelry from her bed, and purchasing her art supports this essential housing goal. You can read about her incredible life as an artist and teacher and see her art at: DoniaLilly.com.
